Croí Glan in association with Firkin Crane presents The Rhythm of Fierce Rhythm. It's a soul's companion. You can feel it everywhere. Lift your hands and voices. Free your mind and join us. You can feel it in the air. It's a passion... CHOREOGRAPHER Fearghus Ó Conchúir with the performers DESIGN & LIGHTING Ciaran O’Melia COMPOSITION & SOUND Alma Kelliher TECHNICAL MANAGER Ronán Mac Raois PERFORMERS Mike Daley, Siobhán Ní Dhuinnin, Mary Nugent, Dawn Mulloy Have you ever boogied in the bedroom or found your fierce freak on the dance-floor? The Rhythm of Fierce combines the uplifting highs and dark provocations of club culture with some surprising use of wheelchairs. The performance rides the energy of nineties club classics and surrounds the audience in a world of fabulous imagination and primal rhythm. Croí Glan commissioned Fearghus Ó Conchúir to create this forty-minute show developed at Firkin Crane during 2014 and finished in a two-week production residency. The result is a work that excites, challenges and glitters. Croí Glan, Ireland’s leading integrated dance company, was founded at Firkin Crane in 2006 by Tara Brandel and Rhona Coughlan. It has entertained audiences at home and abroad, receiving critical acclaim for its work and for its commitment to innovative dance, both in performance and through education programmes. Integrated dance is an internationally recognised collaborative artform that celebrates body diversity and values difference and individuality. The members of this professional contemporary dance company include both disabled and non-disabled dancers. www.croiglan.com www.fearghus.net Special thanks to Tara Brandel for her energy in the piece, to all at Firkin Crane for their help and to Sinead Murphy for her glittering contribution and generosity.
