An Aerial Circus Wall Running Flying Wheelchair Dance Performance!!
This is another opportunity to see this amazing aerial show. A huge hit at Clonmel Junciton Festival, it was choreographed by Tara Brandel with technical direction being provided by one of the pioneers in aerial dance, Geneviève Mazin, co-founder of Retouramont Company. This is a performance of contradictions; wheelchairs and aerial, ground and sky, yearning and fleeing. Like a rollercoaster falling, soaring, scrambling, bound; we are poised on the brink of love and fear.

In the second piece of this double bill, Croi Glan's Artistic Director Tara Brandel's new work, Fall, takes a poignant and quirky look at the interactions of four people. Tender and playful, Fall looks at the ups and downs, soaring and scrabbling, heights and depths of the human condition.

On the Wall/ Asymmetrical Tendencies/New Piece
Civic Theatre, Main auditorium, Tallaght
Sunday 26th July, 7:30pm
This venue is wheelchair accessible
Croi Glan will visit Tallaght's Civic Theatre on 26th July with a performance of three pieces. On the Wall ischoreographed by Ireland's leading choreographer David Bolger which will have had it's premiere at Cork Midsummer Festival. The second piece, Asymmetrical Tendencies, was created by internationally renowned choreographer Jess Curtis (San Francisco/ Berlin) in collaboration with dancers Tara Brandel and Rhona Coughlan of CROI GLAN. It has had a sell out run in San Francisco and received standing ovations at Cork Midsummer Festival 2008.
The third piece will be a performance by young people from St. Kevin’s Family Resource Centre in collaboration with Tara Brandel and Rhona Coughlan. Young people from the ‘Tallaghtfornia’ group of Tallaght Youth Service and those working within the Irish Wheelchair Association, both based within St. Kevin’s Family Resource Centre, are working with CROI GLAN over a one-day workshop. Via this youth-led project, young people chose to work with CROI GLAN to engage in the collaborative creation of an artwork to challenge stereotypes about young people with and without disabilities. The piece CROI GLAN and the young people create will be performed at the Civic Theatre.
The workshop and performances by Croi Glan have been supported and funded by the Civic Theatre, Tallaght, South Dublin County Council, St. Kevin’s Family Resource Centre, the Irish Wheelchair Association, and Tallaght Youth Service.
